‘So, Jeremiah, if you’re worn out in this footrace with men, what makes you think you can race against horses? And if you can’t keep your wits during times of calm, what’s going to happen when troubles break loose like the Jordan in flood?’ - Jeremiah 12:5 (The Message)
Steve Smith, currently serving as a Special Forces commander, has deployed three times to some of the harshest environments in the world.
Even leaders like Steve falter without help.
Steve seeks to surround himself by men who will spur him on – challenging him to become the man God wants him to be. The men he interacts with strengthen him as a Christian leader. Men who are following Christ – whatever they see Jesus doing, they try and do.
The battlefields Steve has lived through are overshadowed by the spiritual wars waging in every believer’s life. To make it through these, Steve needs other men to help him train so he can grow into an effective servant in God’s kingdom.
“I have to allow my heart to be increasingly exposed and open to these other warriors, so that we can continue to advance the kingdom.”
The Navigators who pour into Steve enable him to lead others to live lives marked by their relationships with Jesus Christ.
Steve lives with his wife, Ashley, near Seattle. He is striving alongside The Navs Military to build a community of believers among military personnel at Fort Lewis, Washington.
